After the years of waiting, “Diablo 2” was finally released in 2000. The fans expected a lot from the second part of the Diablo series and Blizzard did not disappoint them. The game became much better than anybody could imagine in advance.
The unique gameplay, the new characters, the brilliant skill-system, thousands of new items and last but not least the excellent cutscenes, turned Diablo II into what it is today. With more than 4 million shipped copies, Diablo 2 is one of the top-selling pc-games.
The Battle.net is another reason for the amazing success of Diablo 2. Even today, thousands of gamers all over the world play Diablo via Battle.net.

One year after Diablo II, the expansion pack “Lord of Destruction” was released. It added a fifth act to the original game and two new character classes, the Druid and the Assassin. LoD included additionally new unique and set items, ethereal items, jewels, runes, charms, runewords and a few more changes.
The resolution could now be changed from 640×480 pixels up to 800×600 pixels
